PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk moved quickly to help victims of the M 5.6 earthquake in Cianjur, West Java. Through the Waskita Cares program, the Company, in collaboration with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and other BUMNs, immediately sent groceries, clothes, heavy equipment, and others.
Senior Vice President Corporate Secretary of the Company Novianto Ari Nugroho said that the Company sent hundreds of groceries, clothes, and others. In addition, the Company also sent one excavator, one loader, and three drump trucks.
"Waskita, the Ministry of BUMN, and other BUMN companies immediately moved when there was an earthquake in Cianjur. A lot of food assistance such as rice, cooking oil, milk, instant noodles, mineral water, adult and children's clothes, blankets, bed rugs, tents, shrouds to generator engines, we immediately send them there, "said Novianto Ari Nugroho.
" The Company also sent one excavator, one loader, and three drump trucks to help open access to roads affected by the ruins after the earthquake," continued Novianto Ari Nugroho.
Novianto also said that Waskita and the West Java Provincial BUMN Task Force continued to work on distributing aid to affected residents. "The Company has sent aid to three posts in Cianjur. So each post gets groceries and clothes. We also sent 15 volunteers to Cianjur to help the affected residents," said Novianto Ari Nugroho.
In total, there were 492 pieces of assistance for groceries, mineral water, clothing, and others that were provided by the Company to the victims of the earthquake in Cianjur. Novianto hopes that the assistance provided by Waskita can ease the burden on Cianjur residents who were affected by the earthquake. "Don't forget that we from Waskita express our condolences for this earthquake disaster to all Cianjur residents who were affected," said Novianto Ari Nugroho.
