Waskita Optimistic to Complete Seven Special Toll Roads

PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk optimistic to complete seven special toll roads with additional State Capital Participation (PMN) 2021 funds. The seven toll segments include the Kayu Agung - Palembang - Betung (KAPB) Phase 2 Toll Road, Bekasi - Cawang - Kampung Melayu (BECAKAYU) Section Wiyoto – Wiyono and Section 2A Ujung Connections, Cimanggis – Cibitung (CCTW) Toll Road Section 2, Bogor – Ciawi – Sukabumi (BOCIMI) Section 2, Pejagan – Pemalang (PPTR) Toll Road, Krian – Legundi – Bunder – Toll Road Manyar (KLBM) Section 4, and the Pasuruan – Probolinggo Toll Road (PASPRO) Section 4.

For the completion of the toll road section, the President Director of PT Waskita Karya Destiawan Soewardjono has signed a Letter of Commitment (LoC) for the recipient of the 2021 State Capital Participation (PMN) with the Deputy for Finance and Risk Management of the Ministry of SOEs Nawal Nely, Director General of Wealth of the Ministry of Finance Rionald Silaban and the Secretary General Ministry of PUPR Mohammad Zainal Fatah in Binjai, North Sumatra. The signing was witnessed directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of PUPR RI Basuki Hadimuljono and Deputy Minister II of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, shortly before the inauguration ceremony of the Binjai - Stabat Toll Road Friday (4/2/2022).

The President Director of the Company said that the signing of the LoC is a form of commitment from PMN recipients to be responsible, ensuring the use of PMN funds as one of the company's main performance indicators in the sustainability of infrastructure development in Indonesia. “The management is optimistic that it will be able to complete these seven special toll roads, especially with the Company's liquidity conditions which are much better. This support from the Government in the form of a 2021 PMN capital deposit shows concrete trust and support for Waskita," explained Destiawan.

“The completion of the special toll road and the State Capital Participation are also part of Waskita's 8 stream financial restructuring program. Previously, the Company had completed the restructuring process of the Parent Company and Subsidiaries, Guaranteed Loans and bonds/sukuk from the Government, business transformation and toll road divestment. The company is also committed to prioritizing the principles of GCG & risk management in running its operational business," said Destiawan.

PMN 2021 funds have been received by the Company in full amounting to Rp. 7,9 trilion on December 29, 2021. The Company has also received additional funds from the public in the amount of Rp. 1.54 Trillion through a corporate rights issue whose period has been implemented and ends on January 12, 2022.
