Waskita Invites Analysts and Media to Visit Palembang LRT Project

PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (Waskita) invites a number of analysts and media to visit the Light Rail Transit Project (LRT) of Palembang on Thursday (26/10/17). The analyst and media visit to Waskita projects is an annual routine agenda intended to introduce analysts and media more closely to the production process, as well as the challenges faced with the project team's solution in the field.

In the Palembang LRT project, analysts and the media get an explanation from the Head of Main Project Ir. Masudi Jauhari about the dynamics experienced by the project team in completing this big and strategic work. With a very tight turnaround schedule, the condition of the work area is narrow because it is in the middle of heavy traffic and settlement, Waskita team until now (26/10) has been able to complete the work faster than the planned time. To the analysts and media Masudi Jauhari revealed that in general Waskita up to now has reached 68.05% progress of the plan of 67.94%.

LRT Palembang is one of the national strategic projects built by the government to support the success of the upcoming 2018 Asian Games in Palembang and Jakarta. LRT Palembang stretches along 23.40 kilometers and crosses the Musi River with a 435 meter river span. Along the LRT line there are 13 (thirteen) stations, 9 (nine) electrical substations, and 1 (one) depot. The project contract value is Rp 10.9 trillion, with an implementation period starting from 21 October to 30 June 2018.

In addition to listening to presentations from the Head of Projects, analysts and mediapun had an opportunity to see closely the progress that has been achieved along with the on-going activity in the field. Questions were launched from analysts and the media ranging from the technology used in rail installation, the obstacles faced during construction, the winding trails, the capacity and facilities at each station, the comparison of travel time from the airport to GOR Jakabaring before and after there is LRT, until the construction technology while working on the trase at the Musi River bridge.
