Avoidance of the Way Sekampung River Dam

PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk as a contractor for the Construction of the Way Sekampung Dam in Pringsewu Regency, Lampung Province, is currently working on the project with construction progress to date which has reached 53.4%. The dam, which is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN), enters the river evasion stage which is marked by ceremonial evasion of the Way Sekampung river on July 25, 2019. After avoiding the river water flows through the duct channel (tunnel) then the weir body can begin to carry out activities the construction is in the former river flow.

The construction of Package 2 Way Dam Dam was undertaken by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk Operational Cooperation (KSO) with a portion of 62.5% along with PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk with a portion of 37.5% since September 28, 2016 and targeted to be completed in September 2020. This project has a contract value of Rp 829 billion covering road and bridge works, spillway buildings, take-up buildings, hydromechanical work, facility buildings, tunnel buildings, cofferdam and main dams.

The Way Sekampung Dam which has a capacity of 68 million meters3 was built to meet the raw water needs in Bandar Lampung City, Metro City, and South Lampung Regency at 2.48 m3 / second. In addition, this dam will provide 72,707 hectares of irrigation water supply, 5.4 MW of electricity potential, and reduce flooding of 185 m3 / sec.

Also present at the inauguration ceremony were the Head of the Ni Made Sumiarsih Dam Center, the Pringsewu District Chief Sujadi Saddat, the Head of the Mesuji Sekampung River Region, Iriandi Azwartika, and the SVP Infrastructure 3 Division of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk Aris Mujiono.
