(24/9), a Manado TPA Ground Breaking ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi, Steven Kandouw, the Director of Sanitation, Ir. Prasetiyo, Special Staff of the Minister of PUPR, Ir. Lucky Kora, Head of South Sulawesi BPPW Office, North Sulawesi Rusan Nur Tait, SVP Infrastructure I Division Waskita, Aris Mujiono, Proder Manager Infrastructure I Division Waskita, Poerwanto, Manado TPA Project Manager, Dedy Hariyanto.

Waskita was appointed as a contractor to work on the project. So TemanKita, the existence of a TPA that will accommodate waste from 4 autonomous cities and districts, is incorporated in the Mamitarang metropolitan urban area (Manado, Minahasa Regency, North Minahasa Regency and Bitung City). With the existence of TPA Manado, it is hoped that it can provide real support for the development of the Manado - Bitung - Likupang Tourism Area as one of the priority tourist destinations announced by President Jokowi.
