PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. : continue to play a role in the economic development of the community. This time by carrying out further construction work on the Temef Dam, located in South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), through its business unit Infrastructure I Division, which has just won the tender for the construction with a contract value of RP464 billion.

The signing of the contract for the Temef Dam Development Continuation project of South Central Timor Regency (Package-4) (MYC) was carried out in the Nusa Tenggara River Basin 2 office hall between the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) Dam Activities 1 NTT II River Basin Hall, Fajar Hariaji and SVP Infrastructure I Division, I Nyoman Agus Pastima on Monday, 11 July 2022.

The Company's SVP Corporate Secretary Novianto Ari Nugroho revealed that the construction time for this project will last for 900 days, with Waskita's scope of work covering preparation work, evasion buildings, cofferdams and main dams, then extraction buildings and hydromechanical equipment.

The Time Dam, located in a watershed area of 550.98 km2 with a river length of 45.38 km, is planned to be built with a horseshoe type and 340 m long. In addition, the cofferdam will be built with a random containment type with a sloping core and an evasion height of 20m, and the main dam being constructed with a Selective random containment type with an erect Core.

On that occasion, Novianto explained the purpose and benefits of the construction of this dam to support increasing agricultural productivity to an area of 4,500 hectares. "This dam is also expected to meet the raw water needs of the people of NTT, especially in the surrounding areas," added Novianto.

In addition, The dam is also a function of flood control on the mainland of Malacca, and the development of a Micro Power Plant (PLTM) of 2 x 1.0 MW, then increasing the economy and maintaining food security in the districts of South Timor Tengan, North Central Timor Regency, and Malacca District.
