Waskita Targets Repair of TBPPKA & KAPB Toll Roads to be Completed Before Idul Fitri 2022

PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. is targeting the completion of the repair of the 189-kilometer Terbanggi Besar—Pematang Panggang—Kayu Agung (TBPPKA) toll road to be completed before the Idul Fitri 2022 homecoming traffic. It is planned that all permanent repair works from rigid pavement to flexible pavement will be completed in April 2022. The toll road part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) is an important segment in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of community mobility in Sumatra, significantly ahead of Lebaran. In addition, the 42.5-kilometre-long Kayu Agung—Palembang—Betung (KAPB) Toll Road will also be thoroughly repaired, including potholes. The KAPB toll road section is managed by a subsidiary of Waskita Toll Road, namely PT Waskita Sriwijaya Tol (WST).

During his working visit to the TBPPKA toll road last Friday (25-2-2022), Waskita, Director of Operation II Bambang Rianto, said the project team focused on the damaged toll road sections. "The project team will focus on repairing damaged toll roads so that the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for Toll Roads can be met to ensure the safety and comfort of toll road users and to support community mobilization during the Lebaran homecoming," he said on the sidelines of the visit. He hopes that the direction of the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono regarding the repair of the toll road can be realized immediately.

“Our target is to close all holes, no matter how small, that are identified on the Kapal Betung toll road section. If a new hole is found, it will be immediately covered with cold-mix baro - baro asphalt from South Korea in less than 1×24 hours. The target time exceeds the minimum service standard for toll road maintenance, which is 2×24 hours,” said Waskita Sriwijaya Toll President Director Herwidiakto while accompanying Bambang Rianto. "We are optimistic that in the future, the Kapal Betung segment will have zero holes," he said

During the visit, Bambang Rianto was accompanied by Vice President Infrastructure 2 Division Waskita Dhetik Ariyanto, President Director Waskita Sriwijaya Tol (WST) Herwidiakto, Coordinator Project Manager Sudarmoko, and Project Manager Maintenance of the Terbanggi Besar – Pematang Panggang – Kayu Agung (TBPPKA) Toll Road Zone. A Eko Suyono. The group directly inspected the toll road and saw directly several points that needed improvement.
