Waskita Peduli “Ngonser” in Muara Angke

As one of the state-owned enterprises engaged in infrastructure, Waskita and TJSL State-owned company Karya took an active role in preserving and sustaining nature. Through the Waskita Cares program, he also participated in planting mangroves in the Muara Angke Wildlife Reserve. It is a commitment and a concrete manifestation of Waskita's active role in supporting the preservation of nature in Indonesia, which is also one of the priority programs of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises.

The existence of healthy mangroves in coastal areas can also increase the resilience of coastal communities to climate change and minimize the impact of natural disasters, such as tsunamis, storms, and sea waves. Indonesia's role in efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change globally is very large, so protecting and restoring mangrove ecosystems is an important step that must be taken together.

Muara Angke Wildlife Reserve (SM), North Jakarta, is listed as the smallest wildlife reserve in Indonesia, with an area of only 25.02 hectares, but this area is very important in supporting the life of the city of Jakarta. To increase shared awareness about the importance of preserving mangroves in this area, Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL), a state-owned company Karya together with the Jakarta Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) and the Nusantara Nature Conservation Foundation (YKAN), held a mangrove planting event and chat Relax Conservation (Ngonser) at SM Muara Angke with the theme "Synergy for Sustainable Mangrove", on Thursday (15/12). Eight SOEs joined in this activity, namely, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Hutama Karya (Persero), PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk, PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), Public Housing Development National Housing, PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, and PT Nindya Karya (Persero).

Present and planting directly on site, representatives of TJSL Waskita, Lutfy Ardian Fahmi, Head of the Jakarta BKSDA Abdul Kodir, Director of the YKAN Development and Marketing Program, Ratih Loekito and other representatives from TJSL SOE Karya.

It is hoped that this mangrove planting program can provide benefits to the surrounding nature so that it can restore mangrove ecosystems while protecting the biodiversity that lives in them.
