A big fire broke out at Pasar Gembrong, East Jakarta, which destroyed hundreds of buildings and merchant stalls. An amount of 400 buildings were affected by the fire, ranging from houses to shops in five RT. The fire was suspected and triggered by an electric short circuit that occurred on Sunday, 24 April 2022, when residents began to dissolve in the atmosphere of preparation for Eid.

In response to the incident, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk. Waskita Peduli Bersama with the East Jakarta BUMN Disaster Task Force immediately distributed goods according to the urgent needs of the fire victims in the form of 50 pieces of clothing (women's, men's, children's clothes), 100 toddler milk pcs, 25 pcs mattress, 50 pcs bath soap, 100 pcs baby diapers, 50 pcs towels, and 25 pcs blankets. The aid was handed over through Cipinang Besar Utara Village as the coordinator of the aid distribution and was received directly by the local Lurah on Tuesday (26/4).
