Waskita is Committed to the Implementation of ESG and the Development of New Renewable Energy Projects through its Subsidiaries

PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk through its subsidiary, namely PT Waskita Karya Infrastruktur (WKI), along with PT Royal Maha Consult and PT Indo Energi Masa Depan signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to work together with strategic partner Reposttren Holdings PTE Ltd Singapore for the 2000 MW Floating Photovoltaic Plant Cilamaya Indonesia Project. This signing was carried out to coincide with the implementation of the SOE International Conference or Road to G20 Summit from Trade Investment and Industry Working Group I (TIIWG) in Bali. This activity is an affirmation of the commitment of Indonesian SOEs to supporting and implementing the energy transition and implementing the principles of energy sustainability for the future as well as efforts to stabilize the economy.

WKI President Director Oktarina Kartifa Ayu explained that the project is going to build in the Cilamaya area, Karawang district which will be able to produce green energy of 4000 GWh per year to reduce carbon emissions of up to 3.2 million CO2/year. This project is scheduled to reach a PPA agreement in 2023, construction works in 2023 – 2025, and is targeted for COD at the end of 2025. WKI will later act as an investment partner. Meanwhile, Waskita Karya will be the construction contractor. This project also supports the commitment of the Indonesian government to the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change, namely by reducing carbon emissions.

"We are optimistic that this project will be able to provide benefits to the people in Indonesia, especially in the field of new and renewable energy," Oktarina said.

Oktarina added, “This MoU is also a form of accelerating the development of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) for the supply of electricity as mandated in Presidential Decree no. 112 by 2022 to pursue the national energy mix target of 23% by 2025 and in line with Indonesia's commitment to reduce emissions by 29% by 2030 which is an effort towards a more sustainable energy system”. PT Waskita Karya Infrastruktur is a subsidiary of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk which is engaged in infrastructure and energy investment such as hydropower plant operation, water infrastructure, steel frame fabrication, and heavy equipment management, while Reposttren is one of the developers and facilitators of project investment. Infrastructure to support sustainable development. Reposttren develops the entire cycle of a renewable energy infrastructure project (solar, wind, hydro, etc.) from project inception to construction.

Krisman Simorangkir as the President and Director. The signing procession was witnessed directly by the President Director of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk Destiawan Soewardjono.
