Friday (12/11) The River Closure event was held at Waskita's National Strategic Project, the Leuwikeris Dam.
The River Closure was Attended by the Director of Operation II Waskita Bambang Rianto accompanied by SVP Infra II Nyoman Agus Pastima, VP Infra I Lasino, Prof.Dr. Ir. Eko Winar Irianto, M.T – Director of Technical Development of the Directorate General of Water Resources, Ministry of PUPR, Deputy Regent of Tasikmalaya Cecep Nurul Yakin, Deputy Regent of Ciamis Yana D Putra, and Mayor of Banjar Dr. Hj. There is the Sukaesih Law.
The Citanduy River has a fairly heavy water discharge, So during the rainy season, Banjarsari Village is below it is often flooded.
River Closure is carried out to regulate the water flow and take advantage of the high Citanduy river water flow to store and irrigate the surrounding rice fields.
Leuwikeris Dam has an area of 242 ha and a volume of 81.44 million M3. It is targeted to be completed by mid-2023 to support the agricultural sector in the southern West and Central Java regions.
