PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (Stock Code: WSKT) managed to receive funds of Rp. 9.44 Trillion through a corporate rights issue held at the end of 2021. The Company's rights issue was absorbed by 78.95% amid market conditions that tended to be bearish but the Company succeeded received funds through the public amounting to Rp1.54 trillion and PMN amounting to Rp7.90 trillion. As for the redemption of new shares issued by the Company at the rights issue, the majority were executed by foreign institutions.
Until the end of the rights issue trading period on January 12, 2022, the Composition of the Company's share ownership was 75.35% of the Government and 24.65% of the public, with a total number of shares after the rights issue of 28,806,807,016 shares.
The Company's President Director, Destiawan Soewardjono expressed his appreciation to the shareholders who have participated in the Waskita rights issue corporate action, "We appreciate the trust and support from the shareholders to the Company, especially in the Company's financial recovery process to continue to build a better Indonesia. In the future, the Company will focus on running its operational business armed with much better liquidity capabilities that can improve sustainable financial performance," said Destiawan.
Director of Finance and Risk Management, Taufik Hendra Kusuma said that the Company will continue the implementation of 8 Waskita's Financial Restructuring Streams, especially through corporate actions to issue bonds and Sukuk with government guarantees in the first quarter of this year. The target proceeds from the issuance of bonds and Sukuk is Rp3.83 trillion and will be used for refinancing bonds maturing this year and working capital for the Company's construction projects. "We hope that both capital market and fixed income investors can continue to support for the current and future corporate actions of the Company". Said Taufik.
